SOCCER
The plaque on the right is a symbol of many things... I received it as a 4th-year letter winner in the fall of 2005.
I was cut from the soccer team my Junior Year, so I learned valuable lessons - like taking nothing for granted and making sure you work hard no matter what! I returned to the squad my final two years in college and started most matches.
In addition, this plaque is damaged, and the scars and dents on it aren't from me not taking care of this over the years - the scars are from a tornado that ripped through my parents house in January 2008. This was hanging in my childhood bedroom upstairs and was found in the backyard several days after the tornado.
Today I officiate soccer for many reasons but most importantly to stay close to the game I love. Soccer has taught me so many things over my life, and I hope with each match I officiate I can learn something new.
I've been lucky to work some pretty enjoyable soccer matches in Pro, College, Futsal, High School and USSF.
One can learn a lot both on and off the field!
